Information about Upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Manawatu Marine Boating Club at 12pm on Sunday 29 August at the Boat Club

Now is the time to start thinking about the upcoming AGM for the Boat Club. It is an opportunity for all members to be involved in forming the next Executive Committee and gaining a greater understanding of the running of the Club. We would like to see as many members as possible attend.

The affairs of the Club are monitored by an Executive made up of:

  • Vice Commodore
  • Fishing Co-ordinator
  • Sailing Co-ordinator
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • and up to six Committee members

all of whom shall be financial members of the Manawatu Marine Boating Club.

Nomination forms will be available both on our website and at the Club noticeboard from 1st August.

Except for the position of Secretary and Treasurer, all intending officers and members of the Executive shall submit their names in writing, complete with a proposer and seconder (from different membership numbers), to the Secretary to arrive no later than fourteen days prior to the meeting (15 August). Two members of one family cannot be on the Executive at the same time.

Members will be notified of all nominees prior to the AGM and members of the Executive shall be elected for the ensuring year by a majority of the members present at the AGM.

A member proposing to alter, add to or rescind any part of the “Rules and Constitution” shall give advance notice to the Secretary. Notice must be received by the Secretary 21 days prior to the AGM.  Any proposal will be discussed and voted on at the AGM.

Please consider possible people, including yourself, who you would like to see be a part the Executive Committee. Being on the Committee is an opportunity to provide valuable input to the Manawatu Marine Boating Club, and its members.
