2026 Easter Fish Hunt

What a cracker of a weekend to remember!

Easter Friday dished up near-perfect conditions, and the fishos made the most of it — with plenty of fish hitting the scales and even more heading home for the table. The ocean was alive with dolphins, work-ups, and even a pilot whale sighting thrown in for good measure!

A huge turnout of 225 keen anglers across approximately 65 boats made for an awesome atmosphere both on and off the water.

Saturday, however, had other ideas… After an early check over the bar in the Coastguard boat, conditions were officially labelled heinous, and the call was made to pull the pin on day two. A tough call, but the right one — and luckily Friday more than delivered!

Personally, I had an absolute blast — getting out on the water, sharing a few yarns, and handing out prizes from our epic prize pool.

This event simply wouldn’t happen without the incredible support of our sponsors and the hard work behind the scenes from the MMBC team — including the social committee, fishing committee, weighmaster, and everyone else who chips in to make it all run smoothly.

A special shoutout to Roger and the Radio Operators crew for keeping everyone safe on the water — you guys do an outstanding job, and it doesn’t go unnoticed. And to everyone who donated — thank you, it’s hugely appreciated

That’s a wrap for 2026 — three comps from three, even if a couple tested us with marginal conditions… but we got it done!
